The Lost Village
00:00 / 05:21

"Bro, yeh summer vacation toh pakka boring hone wala hai," Rohan sighed dramatically, tossing a cricket ball into the air.

"Why? Itni amazing jungle trekking plan kiya hai!" Priya, his cousin, shot back. Her braided hair bounced as she packed snacks into her backpack.

Their younger cousin, Ananya, popped her head in. "What jungle? Aur mujhe kyun nahi bataya?"

"Because you’re always on your phone, Miss Instagram Queen," teased Rohan.

Ananya rolled her eyes. "Fine, I'm coming. Waise bhi, ghar pe Netflix ki battery low ho gayi hai."

The next morning, the trio was trekking in a dense jungle near their grandparents' village in Madhya Pradesh. Birds chirped overhead, and sunlight peeked through the canopy.

“Yaar, I swear, GPS nahi hota toh hum lost ho jaate!” Priya giggled nervously, swiping at her phone.

Suddenly, Rohan stopped in his tracks. "Wait... kya smell hai? Cooked food? Jungle ke beech mein?"

They exchanged confused looks. Ananya, ever the curious one, took the lead. "Let’s check it out."

They followed the smell to a clearing. There, hidden behind layers of trees and bushes, stood a village. It looked straight out of an old Bollywood movie—mud huts, a central well, and no electricity poles in sight.

“Kya baat hai… village toh hai, but log kahaan hai?” whispered Priya.

Out of nowhere, a man appeared. Clad in a dhoti and turban, he had a long beard and suspicious eyes. “Kaun ho tum log? Yahaan kaise aaye?”

Rohan stammered, “Hum… bas jungle explore kar rahe the…”

The man looked at them for a moment, then sighed. “Aao. Tumhe kuch dikhata hoon.”

As they entered the village, more people emerged—elderly women, kids, and some men—all looking nervous. Ananya noticed their clothes were tattered, and their faces showed exhaustion.

“Yeh kaunsa place hai?” Ananya finally asked.

The man introduced himself as Hari, the village elder. “Yeh hamara gaon hai—Ghatipur. Jungle ke andar iss liye chup hain kyunki hamara gaon kabhi kisi map pe nahi tha.”

“What? Matlab yeh pura village lost hai?” Priya exclaimed.

“Wahi samjho. Jungle ke ander hume koi dhundta nahi hai, par ab toh jeena mushkil ho gaya hai. Jungle shrink ho raha hai, aur hum log ek naye ghar ki talaash mein hain,” Hari explained, sadness lacing his words.

Ananya’s mind buzzed with ideas. “So... why not find help? Government ya kisi NGO se?”

Hari shook his head. “Bahut baar koshish ki, beta. Koi sunta hi nahi.”

“Ruko,” Ananya said, her eyes gleaming with determination. “Agar duniya tak nahi pahunch sakte, toh duniya ko yahaan lana padega.”

“Matlab?” Priya asked.

“Matlab, hum yeh gaon famous banayenge. Ek cool mystery village! Instagram, YouTube—sab chalayenge!”

Rohan laughed. “Tumhara Instagram obsession kaam aayega, Ananya!”

For the next few days, Ananya and her cousins worked with the villagers. They clicked photos, recorded videos of the ancient well, the lush jungle, and the villagers’ unique lifestyle. They posted everything online with hashtags like #LostVillageIndia and #GhatipurDiaries.

“Wow, dekho! First video pe 5,000 views!” Ananya shrieked.

Soon, people began commenting:
“Is this real?”
“Can we visit this place?”
“Somebody help them!”

One day, Ananya received a call from a famous travel blogger. “I want to visit this village! Can you arrange it?”

Hari was hesitant at first, but Ananya convinced him. “Log aayenge toh help bhi kareinge!”

The next weekend, a group of visitors arrived with supplies—food, medicines, even a generator. The villagers were overwhelmed with gratitude.

But the twist?

Among the visitors was an official from the state government. He was intrigued by the online buzz and decided to investigate.

“You kids did an amazing job. Yeh village ko relocate karna hoga. Main proper planning ke liye officers bhejta hoon,” the official promised.

Weeks later, the villagers were shifted to a nearby town with better facilities. They were sad to leave their ancestral land but excited for a new beginning.

As for Ananya, she became a local hero. Her story even made it to a news channel.

“Not bad for a summer vacation, huh?” Rohan teased.

Ananya grinned. “Bro, ab toh mere followers bhi double ho gaye.”

They all laughed, knowing they had turned a random jungle trek into an unforgettable adventure.

Moral of the Story:
Sometimes, a small idea and a bit of determination can bring big changes. And yes, don’t underestimate the power of social media!
