In a snowy village, Tom the baker and his wife Lily were very happy. They baked cakes and loved seeing the village children. One cold morning, the kids came to the bakery for hot cocoa and cookies. Among them was Ben, a boy who loved adventures.
Ben's sister Emma, who was brave and kind, usually joined him. But today, she wasn’t there. Ben told the kids he wanted to find an ice castle in the forest. "I’ve heard there’s a castle made of ice deep in the woods," he said excitedly.
The kids talked about the ice castle, but Lily warned Ben, "Be careful. They say the Snow Queen lives there, and she is very cold-hearted."
Ben didn’t listen. He sneaked out as it got dark, wanting to find the ice castle. When Emma noticed Ben was missing, she grabbed a lantern and her favorite scarf and went to find him.
In the forest, Emma met an old owl named Whoot. "Who are you looking for on this cold night?" asked Whoot. Emma told him about Ben. "To reach the Snow Queen’s castle, you need more than bravery. You need warmth," Whoot said.
Emma continued and found a talking reindeer named Rudy, who was cold. "I can take you to the castle, but be careful of the Queen’s tricks," Rudy warned. Emma wrapped her scarf around Rudy, and they went to the ice castle.
At the castle, they found Ben trapped in an ice cage. The Snow Queen appeared, dressed in sparkling ice. "Why are you here?" she asked.
"I’m here for my brother," Emma said. "Please let him go. He didn’t mean any harm."
The Snow Queen looked at Emma and the scarf around Rudy. Her eyes softened a bit. "Why should I let him go? What do you offer in return?" she asked.
"Nothing but my company. I will stay if you free him," Emma said, surprising herself.
The Snow Queen thought for a moment and then laughed. "You are brave. Alright. But remember, no cage can hold someone forever if there’s warmth to be found."
She freed Ben and let them leave. As they were going, Emma asked, "Why did you change your mind?"
"Your warmth reminded me of something I had forgotten. Maybe it’s time for me to leave this icy place," the Snow Queen said.
Back in the village, Emma and Ben were welcomed as heroes. But Emma knew the real hero was the warmth in her heart, which even touched the cold Snow Queen.
From then on, Ben and Emma often visited the Snow Queen, and each visit warmed her heart a little more. The village children learned that even the coldest heart can warm up with a bit of kindness.
In the snowy village, where cakes smelled sweet, everyone remembered the brave girl who melted a frozen heart with her warmth and courage.
