The Stork’s Dinner time Plan
00:00 / 05:38

In a forest full of tall trees and soft green grass, there lived a clever Fox named Freddy. Freddy was known for his quick wit and mischievous tricks. He loved playing pranks on his friends and had a knack for making even the simplest things seem fun.

One sunny morning, as the birds chirped and the bees buzzed around the blooming flowers, Freddy had an idea. “Today, I’ll invite my friends over for dinner!” he thought with a grin. But as usual, Freddy had a little trick up his sleeve.

Freddy quickly ran to the nearby stream, where his friend Sammy the Squirrel was gathering nuts.

“Hey, Sammy!” called Freddy, “I’m having a dinner party tonight. Would you like to come?”

Sammy, who was busy munching on an acorn, paused. “Oh, thank you, Freddy, but I have to store these nuts for the winter. Maybe next time!” Sammy said, smiling.

Freddy nodded and waved goodbye, thinking to himself, “This dinner is for a special guest. Someone who won’t see my little trick coming.”

Later that afternoon, Freddy decided to visit the tall, graceful Stork named Stella, who lived by the edge of the forest. Stella was a kind and gentle bird, with long legs and an even longer neck. She spent her days wading through the water, catching fish, and enjoying the peacefulness of the river.

As Stella stood in the water, carefully watching for fish, Freddy approached her with a warm smile. “Good afternoon, Stella! I was wondering if you would like to come over for dinner tonight? I’m making something special!”

Stella, always polite and happy to spend time with friends, smiled back. “Why, thank you, Freddy! I’d love to join you.”

As the sun set and the sky turned pink and orange, Stella arrived at Freddy’s cozy little den. The smell of freshly cooked food filled the air, and Stella felt her stomach rumble. “Mmm, it smells delicious!” she said, her beak twitching with anticipation.

Freddy grinned as he set the table. “I’ve made a tasty soup, just for you,” he said, placing a shallow dish filled with warm, fragrant soup on the table.

Stella looked at the dish and then at Freddy, unsure of how to eat the soup with her long, narrow beak. She tried to sip a little, but all she managed to do was dip the tip of her beak into the soup. It was impossible for her to eat!

Freddy, on the other hand, was slurping away happily, his wide mouth perfect for the shallow dish.

Stella felt a little sad but didn’t want to upset Freddy, so she quietly said, “Thank you, Freddy, for the dinner. The soup smells wonderful.”

But Freddy noticed her struggle and, deep down, felt a little guilty for playing this trick on his kind friend. However, he said nothing and continued to eat, pretending not to notice.

After dinner, Stella thanked Freddy and flew back to her nest, her stomach still empty. As she flew over the forest, she thought to herself, “Maybe Freddy didn’t realize I couldn’t eat from that dish. I should invite him over to my place for dinner tomorrow.”

The next day, as the sun shone brightly and the forest was alive with the sounds of chirping birds, Stella prepared a special meal for Freddy. She made sure it was something he would love – a delicious fish stew. But this time, Stella served the stew in a tall, narrow-necked jar, just perfect for her long beak.

In the evening, Freddy arrived at Stella’s nest, his mouth watering as he smelled the tasty stew. “Mmm, it smells so good, Stella! I can’t wait to dig in!” he said, his tail wagging with excitement.

Stella smiled warmly and set the tall jar in front of Freddy. “I hope you enjoy it, Freddy,” she said.

Freddy looked at the jar and then at Stella. He tried to fit his snout into the jar, but it was too narrow. He tried tilting the jar to pour the stew out, but nothing worked. He could only lick the rim, tasting just a tiny bit of the stew. It was now Freddy’s turn to feel frustrated and hungry.

Stella gently said, “It’s a shame you can’t enjoy the stew, Freddy. I made it just for you.”

Freddy looked at Stella, his eyes wide with realization. “Oh, Stella,” he said softly, “now I understand how you felt last night. I’m so sorry for being thoughtless. It wasn’t fair of me to serve you dinner in a way that you couldn’t eat it.”

Stella nodded kindly, her eyes full of warmth. “Freddy, I know you like to have fun, but sometimes it’s important to think about how others feel too.”

Freddy felt a little embarrassed, but also grateful for Stella’s kindness. “You’re right, Stella. From now on, I’ll make sure to think of my friends and how they feel before playing tricks.”

Stella smiled and offered Freddy some bread and fruits that she had prepared just in case. They shared the simple meal together, laughing and chatting about their day.

As the night fell and the stars twinkled in the sky, Freddy and Stella realized that true friendship was about caring for each other’s happiness. Freddy learned a valuable lesson that day – to always be thoughtful and kind, because that’s what makes friendships strong and lasting.

And so, as they said goodnight, both felt a deep sense of joy and gratitude for the small moments that made life so beautiful.

Lesson:
True friendship means thinking of others and being kind, even when it’s tempting to play tricks.
